Christmas day was spent with my mommy's side of the family. Look what fun we had. Syd only made me cry a few times. I loved the paper more than the actual gift. Shhh...don't tell my mom.

Santa Claus

This is what everyone talks about, "baby's first Christmas." So my mom couldn't get away with not posting anything about it. We were soo busy and had many celebrations with family and friends. I had so much fun. Although I don't understand exactly what is going on yet with this whole Christmas-Santa thing. Honestly, I think its a little creepy that I have to sit on some old mans lap that I don't even know and they want me to smile at the same time. Then I come to find out he actually sneaks in to my house when I am sleeping and supposedly puts gifts under the tree and that is only if I am good. Hmm...so glad Christmas is over, I had many encounters with Santa and I am ready to put that behind me for the time being. Maybe I will understand it a little better next year. I have so many pictures to show everyone. This is a few of many more to come.

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree....
Thanksgiving is over and now it is time to pick out our Christmas tree. What fun! I hear there is always some disagreements when it comes to the Christmas tree. Alex and my mom fight every year about the tree. Alex likes the long needles with colored lights and my mom likes the short needles with white lights. My brother and my dad take about 2 seconds to pick out a tree. My mom, on the other hand, likes to analyze every tree to find the perfect one. Although my dad loves Christmas, he dreads the whole tree argument. Last year they finally decided that each year they will switch off to make both of them happy. This year that came to an end because of our bigger house. My mom and my brother both get their way, they each get to pick out their own tree. This makes life soo much easier, especially for my dad. I can't wait until I have a say. Do trees come in the color pink?
I had to post a picture of the aftermath of my mom making baby food for the first time. She was a little unsure of how to do it, hence the mess in the kitchen and that picture shows only half of the mess. I thought this was pretty funny. You should have seen her in action. Surprisingly, I love everything she makes. I have tried asparagus, sweet potatoes, squash, beans, pears, apples, peaches and apricots. So far there is nothing I do not like. Way to go mom, I am so proud of you for keeping this up.
Happy Thanksgiving...Belated
Yes, my mom is actually going back to Thanksgiving. I think just for peace of mind. Really, how could she actually miss a post on my first Thanksgiving? I came to find out that we follow some great traditions. We always host Thanksgiving. My dad and brother prepare and cook the turkey together first thing in the morning. (They got up really early even before I actually got up.) It's something the two of them look forward to. Although I didn't get to actually taste the turkey this year it looked and smelled delicious. I will let you know next year when I can finally eat something substantial. My dad and brother spend the day together in the kitchen doing all the preparations. My mom was in charge of all the cleaning and getting the house ready. I am not sure why she cleans before a party, people come over and it just gets all messy again. We had a house full of family, it was wonderful. I did get to taste some mashed potatoes and butternut squash soup. Okay so daddy snuck me a little bit of cheesecake. Yummy. My parents forgot to take pictures. How could they on my first Thanksgiving? At the end of the night they finally got one when my Nana stopped by. My brother eats a lot of food. He loves Thanksgiving leftovers, can you tell?

I am wearing my thanksgiving bib that my great grams bought for me. Too bad she didn't see me wearing it, maybe next year.

My First Road Trip to Great Grandma's House
Due to my mom being sooo busy we are going back in time. I have so much to tell everyone. My first road trip actually took place over a month ago. I had so much fun. I finally got to see where my Great Grandma lives. My great grandma has made many trips to see me but my mom and dad were very hesitant to take me in the car longer than necessary. I was never a big fan of car rides. My mom and dad say that I am not like most babies who fall asleep as soon as the car starts moving. I rarely fall asleep in the car. We decided that only Charlie should join us. (Charlie is the good dog) We didn't have room in the car for Boomer or Snickers. I was pretty good in the car but I did get antsy a couple times. We had to pull over so I could get out of my car seat and stretch. 3.5 hours later we finally made it. I was so excited to see my great grandma. I love her so much. We got there on Saturday afternoon and left Sunday afternoon so it wasn't long enough. Next time we have to stay longer. I was so happy to spend that time with great grandma. On Sunday we had a nice breakfast at a restaurant. I was so good, everyone couldn't believe it. Look at all my pictures of my great grams. I love her soo much.
